FAQ
Straight answers.
Tennnis is a two-person studio in Oslo that designs and builds iPhone apps, websites and AI tools for small and mid-size businesses. Every project has a fixed price agreed before we start: websites from 40 000 kr, web apps from 100 000 kr and iPhone apps from 120 000 kr, all ex. VAT. Most take two to eight weeks.
Prices
How much does it cost to build an app?
An iPhone app costs from 120 000 kr ex. VAT and takes 4–8 weeks. If you need Android too, it is priced into the same scope. Your exact number comes from a numbered list of screens, priced line by line.
How much does a website cost?
A website costs from 40 000 kr ex. VAT and takes 2–3 weeks, with design, a CMS your team can edit, and launch included.
How much does a web app cost?
A web app, such as a booking flow, customer portal or internal tool, costs from 100 000 kr ex. VAT and takes 3–6 weeks. It is hosted and monitored, and your own people can edit it.
Should I choose a fixed price or pay by the hour?
Choose a fixed price when you can describe the screens: you know the cost before you commit, and the studio carries the risk of its own estimate. Paying by the hour suits work nobody can describe yet, like early research. If you can’t say what people do today instead of using your app, start with a short paid discovery instead of either.
Is the price really fixed?
Yes, for the scope as written. The quote lists every screen and state with a price on each line, plus a change budget, usually 15% of the total, for the things you change your mind about. If we run past it, we say so on the day. How we scope a fixed-price project.
Is there anything you won’t quote a fixed price for?
Two things. An integration with a system whose documentation we haven’t seen, and anything described as “like” a product with a hundred engineers behind it. Those start with a paid discovery week, priced on its own, which ends in a scope document you keep whether or not you continue with us.
What does it cost after launch?
Care plans start at 1 500 kr a month and cover hosting, monitoring and small changes. You can cancel any month.
Do your prices include VAT?
No. Every price on this site is ex. VAT. Norwegian VAT (MVA) is 25% on top.
Is the scoping call free?
Yes. It takes 45 minutes, with no deck. You leave with a list of screens and a fixed price, or an honest no, and you keep the list either way.
How a project runs
How long does it take to build an app?
An iPhone app takes 4–8 weeks, a web app 3–6 weeks and a website 2–3 weeks. You can click through a working version in the first week.
When do I get to see something?
In week one, as a version you can click through. We correct course from real screens while changes are still cheap. After that a new build arrives every few days in one shared thread, so you always know where the project stands.
Who actually builds it?
We do: Nick Counts and Milan Botani. The two people who scope your project are the people who build it, so the answer to a question on a Tuesday afternoon comes from someone who wrote the code.
Who owns the code and the app?
You do. The code is yours, and the app is published under your own App Store developer account. If you don’t have one, we set it up for you, in your name. Hosting and upkeep are a monthly plan you can cancel any month.
Apps
Do you build Android apps too?
Yes, in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, alongside the iPhone app and priced into the same scope.
Do you build native or cross-platform apps?
Native. Swift and SwiftUI on iPhone, Kotlin on Android.
Do you handle App Store submission?
Yes. The App Store listing and launch are part of every app project. Seven of our own apps have been through App Store review, so launch holds no surprises.
Can an app use AI without sending user data to the cloud?
Yes, often. We build with Apple’s on-device models, which run on the phone itself, so what people type or photograph never leaves it. Since iOS 27 the same framework can also call cloud models, so we tell you which one your app uses. What on-device AI means for privacy.
Can you add subscriptions or in-app purchases?
Yes, with StoreKit 2, Apple’s framework for in-app purchases and subscriptions.
AI for your team
What happens in the AI workshop?
We spend half a day mapping where AI actually fits in your operation, for 20 000 kr ex. VAT. If you then hire us to build what comes out of it, the fee is credited. The builds are agents and document and support workflows, followed by training so your staff keep using them.
The studio
Where are you based, and who do you work with?
Oslo. We work with small and mid-size businesses, in Norwegian or English.
Can you take on a project now?
Two slots, autumn 2026. Send two paragraphs about what you want to build and you get a straight answer on the first call.
